Course Overview:

Basic Portuguese 1: Language as Liberation

Embark on a language journey that transcends borders! This beginner's class focuses on practical communication, emphasizing listening and speaking skills without relying on translations. Here's what makes our course stand out:

 

  • Immersive learning through visual materials, music, and participant conversations

  • Introduction to grammar structures, practical writing exercises, and engaging history lessons

Advanced Portuguese 2: Dialogues as Liberation

For those who have completed our basic course and would like to continue learning together or for new students with familiarity with the basics of Portuguese. 

  • Advanced  communication practice

  • Smaller class size

  • Advanced but practical grammar structures

  • Reading and writing exercises

  • Cultural and social history

 

Class materials, text references, and learning guides will be provided virtually. A list of recommended dictionaries and supplemental material will be provided by the instructor. 

 

The Atlantic Archives language team is led by principal instructor, Evelin Rodrigues. Evelin is an Afro-Brazilian educator with over a decade of experience in language instruction.
